Past & present
Oldenhoff has been a home for centuries. In the 16th century it was a cattle farm. Granny and granddad Van Blokland farmed here until 2005 and ran a successful cattle rearing business. In the 60’s the farm was divided between the Van Blokland brothers Jan and Jaap. Together with their wives Mien and Lida, they continued the cattle rearing and established the additional horse rearing business. Lida continued milking her cows here up to 2008.
In the 80’s, Jan's son Han van Blokland started a stables and stud farm along with his wife Suzanne. This farm has expanded over the years into a successful breeding, commercial stables and stud farm.
In 2005 a fire razed the old farm house into the ground. The entire living quarters and part of the yard were ruined. Rebuilding was completed in 2010. Two buildings were realised on the site: an oak house built in in the style of a barn with the stables, and of course Villa Oldenhoff, built in the 'Herenhuis' style, that of the Dutch gentry of years gone by.
